Already during the first phase of PANDOWAE in total three Young Scientists (YSs) Meetings were hold successfully in Karlsruhe, Mainz and Munich. Ten PhD students and two Postdocs participated in these meetings that contributed to the formation of an ambitious YSs group, the exchange of scientific knowledge and further qualification by lectures in soft skills.
The second phase of PANDOWAE was initiated on a workshop in Kaufbeuren in December 2012. Six PhD students and seven Postdocs decided to continue with these YSs Meetings. To reintegrate beginning PhD students and Postdocs into the existing research group is the main goal of the PANDOWAE Spring School 2012. Furthermore, the basics of tools and techniques employed in the first phase of PANDOWAE need to be conveyed. The exchange of scientific knowledge between participants of the first first phase and prospective participants will lead to a successful and an efficient YSs research group. The YSs schools will take place every six months whereupon the organisation will rotate between the PANDOWAE partners.
The PANDOWAE YSs Spring School is organised by PANDOWAE PhD students and Postdocs from Karlsruhe and will be held from 19 to 21 March 2012 at the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
